Winter Wars Open 2023

IN LEW OF RECENT REQUESTS THIS EVENT WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO CARLOS MACHADO JIU JITSU AFFILIATION STUDENTS AND THOSE PERSONALLY INVITED BY CARLOS MACHADO

The Legendary Godfather of Jiu-Jitsu in the Southwest Master Carlos Machado is bringing back his iconic jiu-jitsu tournament to Dallas Texas FOR ALL SCHOOLS REGARDLESS OF AFFILIATION OR TEAM.

Winter Wars will provide an experience for all who attend!  Featuring Gi & No-Gi divisions PLUS an Absolute bracket for both adults and youth. Winter Wars provides an unique scoring system developed to offer an opportunity for every style of grappler out there to showcase their skill,  strongly encouraging submissions and giving points for dominant position.

Winter Wars is a double elimination format where the first 4-6 minutes of each round depending on rank will be submission only. The remaining 1-2 minutes depending on rank will be for points with a sudden death overtime if there is a tie at the end of the match. Non Stop Action and Clear Cut Winners provide a great time for competitors and spectators alike! 

AND As a special bonus to all competitors, Master Carlos Machado will hold a FREE seminar for ALL competitors on Sunday, February 5th. Will be $50.00 for all non-competitors!

TOURNAMENT DATES AND DAILY SCHEDULE:

February 3rd and 4th at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas/Carrollton Conference Center located at 1201 Raiford Rd, Carrollton, TX 75007, United States

February 3rd

1:00 PM - Doors open / Competitors check In (Strictly Enforced)

1:30 PM - Rules meeting

2:00 PM - All Adult Brown Belt / Black Belt Gi and Expert No Gi / Pro No Gi
(This will included some Purples that qualify for the Expert No Gi Divisions.)

*** Competitors must be in the tournament area no later than 2pm or you may be disqualified if you are not present when your division is called.***

February 4th

7:30 AM - Doors open / Competitors Check-In (Strictly Enforced)

8:30 AM - Rules meeting

9:00 AM - Youth divisions will start.

**All Youth competitors must be checked in before 9:00 AM and be in the tournament area or you may be disqualified if you are not present when your division is called (so please give yourself ample time to find parking and be ready to enter when the doors open).***

11:00 AM - Adults divisions will start promptly after the children competition.

***All adult competitors must be in the tournament area no later than 11:00 AM or you may be disqualified if you are not present when your division is called.***

FREE SEMINAR WITH MASTER CARLOS FOR COMPETITORS

February 5th

9 AM - 10 AM  - Youth

10 AM - 11 AM - Adult White & Blue Belts ( 15 Y.O. +)

11 AM - 12 PM - Adult Purple Belts & Above 

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

All registrations include Gi and No-Gi divisions. Participants can register for Absolute divisions if they register in the respective Gi, or No Gi in your weight and division. 

-  FREE REGISTRATION FOR ALL BLACK BELT COMPETITORS  -

-  Early Bird Registration is only $99 before midnight on January 21st and you'll get a FREE RASH GUARD!    Please make sure after you have select your division to go back and register for your FREE RASH GUARD.  If this is not done you will not receive your rash guard. 

- Late Registration is $129 and ENDS February 2nd at 11:59PM. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME. 

$10.00 per day or $15 for all weekend for Spectators.

We need all hands on deck to provide the best experience for all competitors and spectators at Winter Wars. If you would like to help Master Carlos and the crew work the competition, please fill the form out below. Judges are paid $100 a day, Table and event help $50 per day, plus will recieve an event tshirt, meals, and snacks while helping out!
